I recently helped plan my best friend’s safari themed baby shower and I thought I would share all the details! I have to admit I was busy putting things together, right until people started showing up so I didn’t get to take a ton of photos. Thankfully there were a couple of people who got some photos of all the safari-themed decor, food and desserts. If you’re planning a baby shower, please use all these photos as inspiration!
Safari Baby Shower Decor
The majority of the decor from the baby shower was purchased on Amazon. I have to admit, I didn’t put together the balloon arch but it turned out amazing and the gold Oh Baby balloon brought the whole thing together. I would recommend buying two kits and also a balloon pump if you don’t have one. We didn’t use all of the balloons but one kit wouldn’t have been enough since we also used balloons in the baby blocks.
The gold and white frames were from the Dollar Tree and so were the figurines. I spray painted them gold and then once they were dried, put a coat of clear spray paint on them to seal them. For favors we gave Bath and Body Works mini hand sanitizers, perfect for literally everyone.
Safari Baby Shower Food
Since the shower was at 2pm, we just had a charcuterie board with a ton of meats, cheeses, fruits and crackers along with some hummus that looked like a lion (soooo cute), Caprese bites, buffalo chicken dip, and a vegetable tray.
Safari Baby Shower Desserts
If you have been following me for a while, you probably know I love desserts and baking is my JAM. To keep with the safari theme, I made lion cupcakes, zebra chocolate-covered strawberries, iced cookies and giraffe pretzels. I cheated with the French macarons and bought them from Trader Joe’s and just brushed gold paint on the chocolate ones and drizzled chocolate with sprinkles on the vanilla ones.
Baby Shower Games
Part of me wanted to do baby shower games like “porn or labor” and “guess the celebrity baby names” but we went with the classic, Guess How Big Momma Is, Guess When Baby Will Come and Bingo. There are a ton of great ideas on the Pampers website if you need any ideas.
