Ten Desserts Perfect for the Fourth

10 desserts for fourth of july post

In my opinion, a holiday is never complete without a sugar-filled happy ending. Cookies, pies, cakes, ice cream, truffles- I don’t discriminate! I’ve found 10 super patriotic dessert recipes that are sure to wow any dessert lover. There’s something for the experienced baker, non-baker and everyone in between. Enjoy!

STRAWBERRY AND BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE ICEBOX CAKE

You can easily whip this cake up after work, leave it in the fridge overnight and it will be ready when you wake up! If you are short on time, just leave it in the fridge for 4 hours and it will be good to go!

FIRECRACKER CAKELETTES

If you are anything like me and love everything cake related (cupcakes, cake pops, cake batter ice cream and cakes), you will love these. They are basically miniature cakes with a sweet surprise in the middle.

PATRIOTIC BERRY TRIFLE

You can never go wrong with a dessert trifle. If you want to make this dessert even more festive, you can cut the angel food cake or pound cake with a star shaped cookie cutter. Or if you wanted to give this classic a little twist, you can drizzle a mixture of lemon and sugar syrup on the cake before layering on the berries.

Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats

If you are looking for a recipe easy enough for your kids to follow and help with, this one is perfect. Plus, any recipe that does not require baking is a winner in my book!

Patriotic Pizza

This recipe puts a healthy twist on the classic sugar cookie. Well, I’m not sure if a sugar cookie could ever be considered healthy, but it does include fruit!

Patriotic No-Bake Cake Batter Truffles

If you love eating cake batter and raw cookie dough, these are perfect for you. There are no eggs (or baking) involved so you can eat as many as you want and you don’t have to worry about getting sick (like I really get worried anyways).

Firecracker Bundt Cake

I am not a huge fan of bundt cakes, but if I came across one that looked this pretty I don’t think I would be able to resist it. The best part is you just make one box of cake mix and use food coloring to make it look super patriotic.

Firecracker Sugar Cookies

If you are being super lazy or hate baking, this recipe is calling your name. You can simplify this recipe by buying Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough, pre-made icing and pop rocks. I mean, this is so easy you could probably do it after half a bottle of wine.

Flag Fruit

This dessert is perfect for all you health fanatics who eat clean and don’t eat tasty, sugary, delicious desserts. Not sure who or why anyone would want to live like that, but at least it looks festive.

Blueberry Pie

Top a slice of this delicious blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and you have the perfect dessert for a BBQ. Not a big fan of blueberry pie? Apple might not look as festive but it is an American Classic.
