If you have been following me for a while you know that I started reselling clothes on Poshmark in the last year. In my time reselling there are a few tools I use regularly and I couldn’t imagine running my business without them. In this post I’m sharing some of my must-have reseller tools that I couldn’t live without.
Before I get started, there is one tool that I literally could not live without and that is PosherVA. PosherVA has been a total game changer to my business and that is because it does all my closet sharing for me. Using this tool allows me to spend time doing other things like sourcing, photographing and listing. If you would like to sign up for PosherVA you can use the promo code: blazersandbluejeans for 20% off your subscription. Even if you are unsure about it, try it for a month and you will never go back!
A Clothing Steamer
This is super helpful when it comes to getting wrinkles out of clothing before you photograph and ship them. If you are just starting out or on a budget, a hand held steamer should do the trick. But if you are looking to upgrade or looking for a more powerful steamer, I would invest in a full sized floor steamer. I would also recommend using distilled water to prevent calcium build up.
A Sweater Shaver
I have seen some resellers use razors to shave sweaters but in my opinion, a sweater shaver works so much better. They are relatively inexpensive and to a great job removing pills on all kinds of clothing, not just sweaters.
Stain Removers
If you are picking up clothes at the thrift or from the bins, I’m sure you have come across items that have mysterious stains. Stains can be tricky because most of the time you don’t know what they are. That’s why it’s important to have a variety of stain removers because sometimes it takes more than one to get the job done!
Stain Remover and Bleach Pens
These are a must have to keep in your purse when you are sourcing at the thrift or at the bins. If you see something at the store with a stain on it, you can use a Tide or bleach pen to see if it comes out. If by the time you are done shopping, it hasn’t come out yet, chances are it might not come out when you get home.
Sensor Remover
If you purchase pallets, a sensor remover is a must have. Honestly, I am not a huge pallet person but have come home after doing Retail Arbitrage and realized they didn’t take the sensors off. It’s so much easier to remove the sensor at home and the sensor removal magnets to remove them are relatively inexpensive. Plus in my opinion, it’s not worth potentially destroying the items by removing them on your own with plyers.
If you are expanding your business or shipping on your own some of the other reseller tools you might want to invest in are:
- A label printer (Dymo and Rollo are the most common with resellers)
- A scale to weigh packages
- A tape gun
- Clothing racks
- A mannequin
- Light set up
Again if you would like to sign up for PosherVA you can use the promo code: blazersandbluejeans for 20% off your subscription. Trust me, it is a GAME CHANGER!
If you are diving into the world of reselling, I hope you found my list of must have reselling tools helpful. If there is something that you couldn’t run your reselling business without, I would love to hear about it in the comments!
