My Honest Sweetkick Review

On the fence about purchasing Sweetkick to help kick your sugar addiction? Read on for my honest Sweetkick review! You can also save 20% off your order (minimum $14 purchase) if you use the code BLAZERSANDBLUEJEANS

Step 1: Admit you have a problem

My name is Tiffany and I am a sugar addict. Let me rephrase that my name is Tiffany and I was a sugar addict. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved sweets. Like there isn’t one sweet that I discriminate against. I mean I don’t really like chocolate but I would still eat a slice of chocolate cake. I love ice cream, cakes, cookies, and I love them even more when they are combined, like an ice cream cake. I’m honestly smiling while writing this because I’m thinking of how delicious these things are.

But a few months ago, my obsession with sugar was at an all-time high. I noticed that anytime I ate a meal, I would need something sweet afterward. I literally could not think about anything until I ate something sweet. If I didn’t have anything at my house, I would literally go to the store and get something. I was also hitting the 3pm slump at work and would need something sweet to wake me back up. I had been looking for something to help me with these terrible sugar cravings and I came across Sweetkick.

So what is Sweetkick?

Sweetkick was founded by Harley Pasternak, the same guy who helped Jessica Simpson lose 100 pounds after giving birth to her third child. He also happens to be a personal trainer, an author for several health books, and a motivational speaker. The product that intrigued me about Sweetkick was their 14 Day Sugar Reset Kit. The kit includes two weeks of Body Balance Powder and several packs of Sugar Control Mints.

The Body Balance Powder is a flavorless powder that you mix into your beverage of choice in the morning. The powder is designed to help support healthy blood sugar levels and insulin production in your body. Plus it also helps your body metabolize carbohydrates and fat into energy. The Sugar Control Mints are to help you when you are really craving something sweet. You pop one in and then things that are sweet and sugary all of a sudden taste like nothing.

Sweetkick just recently came out when I heard about it so there weren’t very many Sweetkick reviews. I decided it didn’t hurt to give it a try. The kit costs $46 but that is honestly how much I was spending on sweets in two weeks so it was worth trying.

My Sweetkick review

The first few days were a little difficult. I was still kind of craving sweets and I was having a ton of stomach issues. I later discovered that I was having stomach issues because I was drinking kombucha AND drinking the powder in the morning. Basically, my body was getting a ton of fiber and probiotics and it was kind of freaking out. Once I realized that I stopped drinking my daily kombucha (RIP) and just mixed the powder with my bone broth in the morning. I also recommend getting a handheld mixer (I have this one and love it), it makes mixing the powder in your morning beverage so much easier.

Totally unrelated to Sweetkick, but if you are not drinking bone broth on a regular basis, please start now! There are soo many amazing benefits to bone broth and just a cup a day can do wonders for you. It’s full of collagen, which is good for your skin, and typically has around 10 grams of protein. Did I mention it’s only like 40 calories? Oh and there’s a ton of other nutrients and vitamins in every serving. Kettle and Fire is one of my favorite brands but they have tons of different brands and flavors on Amazon. I also tried the Bone Broth Diet and blogged about my experience so be sure to check it out here!
UPDATE: I just discovered POWDERED BONE BROTH that has just as much nutrients AND is convenient. There are two brands I have tried and loved, Bare Bones and Lono Life.

Anyways back to my Sweetkick review.

After the first few days, I really wasn’t craving sugar anymore and it wasn’t that hard for me to say no to dessert. I mean don’t get me wrong, your girl will go to town on a box of Publix sugar cookies because they are amazing, but I really wasn’t craving sweets anymore. If there were sweets at the office, I would just pop a Sweetkick mint in and then, sweets were repulsive.

The Sweetkick Mints that come in the Sugar Reset Kit will literally make sweets taste like nothing. Over the course of the 14 days, I probably had only 6 mints but let me tell you, if you are craving something sweet and you eat one of those, it will taste like nothing. It’s the weirdest thing. I’m not sure what kind of witchcraft is involved but they work. I will admit that they do have a bland/strong mint taste to them, but I think that is only because we are so used to eating mints with lots of sugar in them so you are expecting them to taste like that.

Is Sweetkick worth it?

It’s been a couple of months since I did my Sweetkick 14 Day Sugar Reset and I can honestly say that I don’t crave sugar anymore. Of course, I love sweets and they taste delicious, who doesn’t, but I don’t feel like I must have something sweet after a meal or fixate on having a sweet treat. Since finishing the reset, I purchased the Body Balance Powder and now drink that with my bone broth in the morning on a regular basis. It is on the expensive side ($1.75 a packet or $1.41 if you subscribe and save, what I do) but compared to my daily kombucha I was drinking, it’s cheaper. I genuinely feel like it helps regulate my insulin so I am not craving sugar throughout the day.

If you are anything like me and LOVE sweets, I highly recommend trying the Sweetkick 14 Day Sugar reset. And if you’re thinking, “It’s too expensive”, think about how much you spend on sweets over the course of two weeks. I mean an ice cream from Coldstone is over $5 so in the grand scheme of things it’s not that expensive. I have noticed that in the last few months since it came out, it has sold out several times so if you see it in stock, BUY IT! If you don’t, you might have to wait a few months before it comes in stock again.

APRIL 2020 UPDATE!

I wanted to give you all an update on my experience with Sweetkick! It has been about 6 months since I did the 14 Day Sugar Reset and I have continued to drink the Body Balance Powder every day. I still mix it with my bone broth in the morning and I can honestly say that I still don’t crave sweets the way I used to.

If I am being totally honest I currently have several Nothing Bundt Cakes in my freezer, along with some homemade french macarons and about 30 Cheryl’s Cookies and I don’t even feel the least bit tempted to eat all those sugary treats. Don’t get me wrong, I might want something sweet after dinner but if I do, it’s like a cookie or a french macaron, not three. But there are honestly some days where I don’t even have a dessert.

I genuinely believe that Sweetkick has helped me get to where I am in my relationship with sugar and I hope that if you are on the fence about it, you’ll give it a try.

P.S.- I’m giving Blender Bombs a try and having a Blender Bomb smoothie every day during the month of May. If you want to check out my Blender Bomb review, you can read it here!

February 2022 Update!

Hi Kim! The code actually expired on April 30 and I totally forgot to take the code out of my post. I am so sorry about that! I can reach out to them to see if they can extend it but they actually extended it from March to Arpil so I’m not sure they will extend it again.
